Position Overview:
The Afterschool Program Instructor is responsible for creating a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for school-aged children. The Instructor will plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities, support the children’s social and emotional growth, and ensure that our Christian values are integrated into daily programming. This role requires strong communication skills, a caring attitude, and a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Child Supervision & Safety:
- Directly supervise up to 29 children in all program areas during operating hours with potential for extended hours.
- Ensure a safe and secure environment by adhering to safety protocols, emergency procedures, and facility guidelines as outlined by the church and local/state regulations.
- Program Planning & Implementation:
- Develop and implement age-appropriate educational and enrichment activities.
- Support structured and unstructured play that fosters creativity, teamwork, and spiritual growth.
- Christian Environment:
- Integrate core Christian values and ministry vision into daily activities and interactions.
- Collaborate with the administrator and other staff to ensure the program aligns with the church’s mission.
- Communication & Reporting:
- Maintain open communication with parents, guardians, and the church administration.
- Document and report on daily activities, incidents, and children’s progress.
- Collaboration & Professionalism:
- Work cooperatively with the second personnel team member and the administrative staff.
- Attend staff meetings, training, and professional development sessions as scheduled.
Qualifications:
- Experience & Education:
- Previous experience in child supervision, education, or a related field preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with or willingness to learn practices in early childhood education.
- Personal Attributes:
- A compassionate individual who models patience, encouragement, and respect.
- Commitment to upholding Christian values.
- Requirements:
- Must pass a comprehensive background check and any other state-required screenings.
- Current First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain certification upon hire.
- Flexibility to work additional hours if the program requires extended operations.

- Location: Ministerio Monte De Los Olivos, 1028 Pamalee Dr, Fayetteville, NC 28303
- Schedule: Monday thru Friday from 2:00pm-6:30pm (final schedule will be provided at the time of hiring)
